Spantik Expedition, 7,027m
A beautiful 7,000m Karakoram expedition known for its golden slopes, glacier approach, and rewarding high-altitude summit experience.
Spantik, also known as Golden Peak, is one of Pakistan's most popular 7,000m expeditions. It is often chosen by climbers preparing for higher Himalayan and Karakoram objectives because it offers a serious altitude challenge with a more approachable expedition profile than the 8,000m giants.
The climb combines beautiful glacier travel, remote Karakoram valleys, high camps, and wide summit views. Chaqon Global Tours arranges transport, accommodation, porters, base camp logistics, local staff, permit assistance, and customized expedition support for individuals and groups.

About the Spantik Expedition
Spantik rises above the Nagar Valley in the western Karakoram. Its wide, glaciated south-east ridge and moderate technical grade have made it a natural first 7,000m for many mountaineers preparing for Himalayan giants.
The expedition rewards climbers with dramatic views into the Hispar and Baltoro regions, a manageable timeline compared with 8,000m peaks, and a strong sense of accomplishment on the summit ridge. Chaqon Global Tours tailors the program around your team's dates, fitness and preferred pace.
The south-east ridge route follows long snow slopes, several crevassed sections and a memorable final summit ridge, giving climbers a real high-altitude experience without the sustained technical difficulty of the 8,000ers.
From your first inquiry through the debriefing in Islamabad, a dedicated local coordinator handles transport, hotels, porters, base camp kitchen, and permit paperwork, so your team can focus on rotations, rest, and a strong summit push.

Best Season
The best season for Spantik is usually from June to September. July and August are the most popular months, but weather and snow conditions must always be checked before finalising the summit plan.
June often carries lingering winter snow and colder camps, ideal for climbers who prefer firmer conditions on the upper mountain. By July and August the route is normally well established and summit windows appear more frequently.
September can still deliver clear skies but temperatures drop quickly. Our itineraries include buffer days and daily forecast checks so the team can move as soon as a stable window opens.

Difficulty, Fitness & Required Experience
Spantik is a serious 7,000m expedition. It is not a simple trek. Climbers should be physically strong, comfortable with cold camping, and familiar with basic mountaineering equipment.
Expect long days moving in crampons on glaciated terrain, several rotations between camps, and a demanding summit day at altitude. Cardiovascular endurance and mental patience matter more than pure technical skill.
We recommend prior alpine trekking or 6,000m experience, a structured training plan focused on hiking with a loaded pack, and a full medical check-up. Basic rope work and crampon technique should be practiced before arrival.
- Strong multi-day trekking experience
- Basic mountaineering skills strongly recommended
- Comfortable with crampons, ice axe, rope travel and glacier conditions
- Good endurance and ability to carry personal gear at altitude
- Recent medical clearance
- High-altitude rescue insurance

Safety & Permits
Spantik requires proper acclimatization, weather flexibility, glacier safety, and official permit support. Chaqon Global Tours helps with local logistics and coordination, while climbing decisions on the mountain depend on team safety and route conditions.
Before departure we review medical fitness, insurance and evacuation plans with every climber, and confirm each policy covers helicopter rescue in the Karakoram. Nothing on the mountain moves until the paperwork is in order.
During the expedition, daily weather updates, satellite communication and a clear emergency protocol are shared with liaison officers and base camp neighbours. Summit calls are made together with the team, never rushed to fit a fixed schedule.
- Permit and liaison coordination
- Weather forecast support
- Satellite communication at base camp
