A Prado or similar SUV is recommended for the Karakoram Highway's altitude and road conditions, especially outside peak summer months.
What's the difference between this and the Jeep category?
SUVs/Prados suit paved and semi-paved mountain highways; Jeeps are for genuinely unpaved tracks (Kalash valleys, Shandur, Kumrat interior roads).
How many days in advance should I book?
