Hindukush
Peaks Tirich Mir (7,708m), Noshaq and the ranges above Chitral, Garam Chashma and Broghil. Quieter and more cultural than the Karakoram.
Western Himalaya
Nanga Parbat (8,126m) — the 'Killer Mountain' — plus the Kaghan, Naran and Kashmir mountains further south.

Nanga Parbat (8,126m)
Ninth-highest peak in the world. Viewed from Fairy Meadows, one of Pakistan's most iconic short treks.
Tirich Mir (7,708m)
Highest peak of the Hindukush, visible from Chitral town and Garam Chashma on clear days.
Rakaposhi (7,788m)
Rises straight from the Hunza valley floor — one of the world's greatest vertical rises. Base camp trek in 3–5 days.

- May–June: Kalash spring festivals, Fairy Meadows opens, Hunza cherry blossom fades into green.

- September–October: Best photography month — autumn colours in Hunza, Skardu and Chitral, stable weather.
- November–April: Lower valleys only — Hunza in snow, Chitral town, Skardu drives; high passes closed.
