Winter & Snow Tours in Pakistan

December to February snow trips to Murree, Malam Jabba, Naltar, Hunza and Skardu with 4x4 transport, heated hotels and daily road-condition checks.

Pakistan's snow season runs from mid December to late February, and the reliable snow destinations are Murree and Bhurban, Malam Jabba in Swat, Naltar near Gilgit, Hunza and Skardu. Roads to Naran, Kumrat and Kaghan close in winter, so we do not sell them in this season.

Winter trips need different planning: 4x4 vehicles with snow tyres or chains, hotels with real heating and hot water, shorter driving days and a flexible plan if a pass closes. We check road status each morning with local partners before departure.

Frequently Asked

Questions travelers ask

Where is the best snow in Pakistan?
Naltar near Gilgit has the most reliable deep snow, followed by Malam Jabba in Swat for skiing and Murree and Bhurban for easy family snow within 2 hours of Islamabad.
When does it snow in northern Pakistan?
Mid December to late February in most destinations, with Naltar holding snow into March. Heavy snowfall usually starts in January.
Are Naran and Kumrat open in winter?
No. The roads to Naran, Kaghan beyond Balakot and Kumrat close under snow from roughly November to May, so we replace them with Malam Jabba, Murree or Galiyat.
Is Hunza reachable in winter?
Yes. The Karakoram Highway stays open to Hunza in most winters, but Babusar Pass is closed, so the route goes via Besham and Chilas and needs a buffer day.
What should we pack for a winter trip?
Insulated jacket, thermal base layers, waterproof boots with grip, gloves, woollen hat, sunglasses and lip balm. Rooms are heated but corridors and vehicles are cold.
Can you rent ski equipment?
Yes. Skis, boots and snowboards are rented locally at Malam Jabba and Naltar, and instructor time can be booked with your package.
